on 29 Aug 2018 CLIFF MEWETT said The Hastings & St Leonards Football Club were the first to use the Pilot Field regularly. The Pilot Field was used from March 1923 and I believe this photograph was taken at the far end of the pitch The lie of the background scene further up the hill is probably where Ochiltree Road is now. A more modern photograph of the same scene bears this out.
