on 26 Jun 2017 Gerry Glyde said A very full crowd listening to the band and the steamer just leaving the end of the pier perhaps for a trip to Eastbourne or Brighton. The heyday of a seaside holiday would soon be over as the draw of cheap package holidays to Spain would be available.
Still, there was to come the Mods and Rockers of the early 1960s
