on 27 Apr 2012 Christina Porter said My Grandparents, Samuel and Chris Swales managed The Bedford from 1933 to 1938 and my mother, Christina Swales, lived there too. I was told it was across from the Cricket Ground.
The Whitbread Brewery owned several establishments, one of which was the Bedford Hotel and Pub, my grandparents had purchased the right, or license, to manage it. -
on 15 Apr 2019 Gloria Snook said Would Priory Avenue be on the left? My Aunt &Uncle ran a guest house there in the fifties.
